Patent Attorney
A patent attorney, also known as a patent agent or patent lawyer, if the person is qualified to engage in patent law and practice matters, aids the layman in filing and defending patents. A patent law attorney is permitted to practice before at least one court, whereas a patent agent may not be so admitted. However, both a patent agent and us patent attorney may practice before the United States Patent and Trademark office (USPTO). Legally, lawyers cannot be dubbed registered "patent attorneys" unless they are admitted to practice before the US Patent Office.
There are a variety of patent and copyright attorneys or patent litigation attorneys, from a chemical patent attorney, property patent attorney or invention patent attorney to a design patent attorney or trademark patent attorney. A trademark and copyright patent attorney defends the validity of copyright patents before the US patent and trademark office.
